My Big Fish Tournament at Piney run park
Well, I caught a 1.53 lb. largemouth that was 14.5 inches at about 9:45 a.m. deadsticking a Watermelon/chartreuse laminate 5" Gary yamamoto senko soft lure, that was the only bite of the day for me. I fished from 7 to 11. I threw spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, senko type fishing lures for bass......... But only 1. I was fishing from shore, but the guys in the boats who went up lake to the Dam and threw a senko brought back 3 and 4 pounders that ended up filling the top 2 places. I focused on shallow water mainly. On this bass fishing trip I only saw 1 bass cruising the shallows the whole morning. I Tried coves with pads and shallow water docks and flats. The one bass I did catch was from one of the fishing plat forms and one of the guys I talked to said that most bass he either heard or saw being caught from shore were in super skinny water. I tried skipping my senko lure under docks..............
